Do you need to warm up your body and stimulate your soul? The aromatic duo of Ginger and Clove essential oils is exactly what you need, and aromatherapist and phytotherapist Aneta Jirchářová will tell you about them in the next part of her fragrant column.
Warming up the body and soul
When cloves and ginger meet, we can expect great things. Because these two will really heat up our calves. Both of them can warm even the coldest soul. When these two come to you, their job is to force you to act by flooding you with the best hellfire.
Ancient aphrodisiac
In ancient times, they were known for their aphrodisiac effect. They help to pump up the heart and achieve the best performance. Wink, wink… The main strength of cloves is the substance eugenol, which has an analgesic effect and is widely used for toothaches. However, it is strongly irritating, it is not recommended for use in children and on sensitive skin. Eugenol, extracted from cloves, also increases blood flow. Therefore, the essential oil is not suitable during pregnancy, because it stimulates the uterus and promotes uterine contractions. Its sweet, warm aroma pleasantly warms our senses and gives a feeling of well-being.

Ginger and cloves in tradition
Ginger, along with cloves, is one of the oldest known spices. It was mentioned in his writings by Confucius (around 500 BC) and its use in Bohemia is documented by the folk song The fox runs to the camp, carrying a bag of ginger... Its penetrating, warm scent penetrates to the marrow of the bones. Ginger is a warrior who fights all ailments, both in the body and in the soul. Like cloves, it motivates us and encourages us to take action. It does not allow us to postpone anything and helps us to see everything through to the end.
Essential oils for cough
Ginger is a must-have in the winter, when our immunity is weakened and we are plagued by endless colds accompanied by runny nose and irritating coughs. If we have any problem with the bronchi, whether it is acute or chronic inflammation, ginger acts as an antitussive. That is, it soothes irritating coughs. Together with cloves, it combats acute respiratory viral infections. Can you imagine better caregivers than these two scoundrels? Not me.
