Why is BIO Bulgarian rose oil rare?

30-40 aromatic flowers are transformed into one drop of this gem. In other words to obtain 1 kg of organic rose oil, approximately 3500 - 4000 kg of fresh, hand-picked Damask rose flowers are needed. The collection begins at dawn, when the open flowers contain the highest percentage of essential oils. They then immediately travel to the more than 100-year-old “rose distillery”, or distillery dedicated exclusively to the processing of roses. This distillery uses traditional vessels, which add their charm to the oil. Thanks to strict technological and hygienic conditions, this is a tradition in a modern guise. The "ORGANIC Bulgarian Rose Oil" you are holding in your hands is registered as a Protected Geographical Indication of the EU.

Behind the scenes of rose oil production

Our oil is produced traditionally by steam distillation. Before it reaches the final oil, a large number of human hands and loving care are required. The flowers are hand-picked after sunrise, when they are still covered in morning dew and their petals contain the highest amount of essential oils (0,02-0,04%, exceptionally up to 0,09%).

Then they are transported directly from the fields in 10 kg bags and immediately travel to huge distillation vessels, where they are filled with water and go through the first steam distillation. Because the rose oil cannot be sufficiently separated, the first distillate travels to other vessels, in which it is distilled a second time. There it gets more complicated. By the end of the same working day, everything is done. The transformation of the magical “liquid gold”, as it is also called, is complete.

We present to you the “uncompromising” guarded purity and quality of this protected gem and we believe that you will also be enchanted by its indescribable and intoxicating scent.

Our 100% oils are preservative-free, vegan-friendly and not tested on animals. They are a 100% pure natural product.
