Tanacetum Annuum is an annual herb that belongs to the Asteraceae family. Plants from the genus Tanacetum grow mainly in the northern hemisphere and bloom with white or yellow flowers. The fruit is an acorn. Blue Tansy or Moroccan Chamomile, Tanacetum Annum, belongs to the same group of plants as chamomile, Roman chamomile or yarrow. Blue tansy is also used to obtain an essential oil, which is rich in chamazulene of indigo color and calming effects. Sometimes it is even confused with Tanacetum vulgare. However, its essential oil is brown because it does not contain chamazulene.
