Hinoki, or blunt cypress (Chamaecyparis obtusa), is a stunning evergreen conifer native to Japan, growing up to 40 meters tall and 100 cm wide. It is considered one of the five sacred trees of the Kiso Mountains and a symbol of power. Its wood, known for its resistance to insects and rot, has long been used to build palaces, temples, shrines, traditional Noh theaters, and baths across Japan.

Aroma: A unique, clean woody scent with sweet, slightly citrusy and spicy undertones. It evokes the scent of freshly cut wood and pine forest, with a hint of lemon. It is fresh, yet deeply grounding and calming.


Combination: Cedar, Sandalwood, Palo Santo, Frankincense, Myrrh, Pine, Eucalyptus, Citrus fruits, Lavender, Ylang ylang.


Dosage and use:
• In a diffuser/aroma lamp: 3-7 drops for relaxation, air purification or creating a forest atmosphere. Helps improve concentration.
• For inhalation: Add 1-2 drops to a bowl of hot water or on an inhalation stick for breathing difficulties.
• In massage oils: 2-5 drops per 10 ml of carrier oil (almond, jojoba) for muscle pain relief and relaxation.
• In hair cosmetics: Add a few drops to shampoo or hair oil to promote hair growth and a healthy scalp.
• For skin care: 1-2 drops in 10 ml of carrier oil for acne-prone skin or minor skin blemishes.
• Insect repellent: Add a few drops to a diffuser or on a cotton ball to repel mosquitoes.
