Thanks to citronellal, it is also one of the most effective natural insect repellents (mosquitoes, ticks).

It is an invaluable aid for respiratory problems. It relieves coughs, bronchitis, phlegm and relaxes the respiratory tract. It is a common ingredient in massage oils to relieve tired muscles and stiff joints. It is a great natural repellent.

On a psycho-emotional level, Lemon Eucalyptus is a wonderful tool for harmonizing the psyche. It has sedative effects, calms and helps dissolve melancholy. It provides energy and optimism in situations where we feel stressed or anxious and cannot breathe freely. It supports communication with the environment, opens the mind and contributes to a positive attitude towards life. It helps improve concentration and keep a cool head. It is used to cleanse the mind, body and spirit of negative emotions and thoughts.

Interesting facts

Lemon eucalyptus was previously classified in the genus Eucalyptus, but botanists have reassigned it to the genus Corymbia (Corymbia citriodora). It is an evergreen tree from the myrtaceae family, native to Australia, growing to a height of 25 to 40 meters. It has smooth white to light pink bark, narrow yellow-green aromatic leaves and small white flowers. The Australian aborigines used the sap of eucalyptus to heal wounds. The leaves release a strong lemon scent when lightly touched. It has gradually spread to subtropical and tropical regions of the world, where it is also used as an ornamental tree or for afforestation

How does it differ from other types of eucalyptus oils?

The main chemical component of lemon eucalyptus is Citronellol, usually 70-90%. In contrast, the radiata chemotype has 1,8-cineole (eucalyptol) as its main component and is more stimulating. The citriodora chemotype, lemon eucalyptus, has a calming effect on the nervous system, helping with anxiety, stress, and insomnia.
