Hot summer days call for a dose of extra hydration. One of the most popular and versatile summer helpers is 100% Lavender floral water. It combines the soothing aroma of a blooming lavender field with a pleasant cooling effect. Now you will appreciate its versatility the most.
Skin
Lavender water is suitable for all skin types. Its astringent, healing and cleansing properties are best known for their ability to treat problematic skin. Its antibacterial and antiseptic effects are used in this regard. Sensitive and irritated skin will appreciate the soothing power of lavender water. Apply it to the skin before and after shaving. This will reduce redness, irritation and prevent unpleasant ingrown hairs. Don't forget to take it with you on your summer vacation! You can use it for sunburn and rashes from the summer heat. Lavender water is a tried and tested first aid after an excessively long stay in the sun. It cools, soothes and nourishes the skin. Which is the first step towards its regeneration.
As a bonus, it works as a natural repellent. Its beautiful aroma repels annoying mosquitoes and lice. If lice are present in kindergarten or school, spray it on your children before they go to school. Lavender water soothes insect bites and stings. You can apply it directly to the skin, soak a cotton pad or gauze in it, and make a nice cooling compress. If you need to increase the cooling power even more, freeze lavender water in ice cubes. Relief will come almost immediately.

Hair
In hair care, it is a staple in the bathrooms of fans of natural and minimalist hair care. It hydrates hair, makes it easier to comb and gives it a wonderful scent. Use it as a spray during hot summer days. Add it to hair masks, homemade hair cosmetics or prepare a simple hair rinse, so-called leave-in, after washing your hair. The amount of hydrolate depends on the length of your hair, it ranges between 20-50 ml per rinse. Prepare 2 smaller bowls. In one, pour lavender hydrolate (or lavender water) from the bag-in-box and leave the other empty. Rinse while leaning forward. Gradually pour the bowl of hydrolate over your hair. You will catch the liquid in an empty bowl that you place under your hair. After the first rinse, swap the containers. And you can do this 3-5 times during one wash.
Lavender is a great choice for irritated scalp. Prepare a mixture with chamomile water for a stronger effect on a really “angry” scalp. If your head sweats a lot in the heat and then itches, mix lavender water with mint.

Children
The sweet, calming aroma of lavender water is suitable for children. In a bath before bedtime, it relaxes, soothes the irritated diaper area, especially in combination with chamomile water. We recommend using lavender hydrolate also in a diffuser (for children under 1 year old, they are an ideal choice, as essential oils are very strong for them). Or spray it into the room or on a pillow before going to bed. Little girls like their own personal perfume and lavender water in a spray bottle is a safe choice for them.
Animals
You can also use the repellent effect on your pets. Spray lavender water on their fur to repel fleas. Flower waters are a safe option for animals as well as children.
Aromatherapy
Lavender water relaxes the body and mind. It brings pleasant refreshment during a busy working day or when we find ourselves in an unpleasant traffic jam ;-)
It calms restlessness and irritation arising from it in the abdominal area, balances nervousness and clears mental blocks. It brings balance in periods of increased restlessness and stress. With its harmonizing power, it strengthens self-confidence and we are then better able to face challenges. It helps to confront arrogant behavior.
Culinary
It is suitable for both hot and cold cooking, for preparing desserts, creams and drinks. You can find inspiration for delicious lavender-lemon cookies here in this previous article. Serve refreshing lavender lemonade during a summer get-together with friends. Both children and adults will appreciate it.
