Two aromatic and very feminine herbs with the same genus name but different species names. These are Clary Sage and Clary Sage. Both have a lot in common: they are calming, pain relieving, harmonize women and the female cycle, lead to the process of self-awareness (connecting with yourself to understand who you really are) and are used as a middle note in perfumery. However, in the world of natural products, where 986 species of sage are recognized today, they can be quite confusing. Today, let's talk about Clary Sage and Clary Sage essential oils.
Clary sage essential oil
Clary sage, Latin name Salvia sclarea, smells very gently herbal with a fruity undertone. It is widely known for its gift of creating a feeling of inner peace and harmony. Use it in a diffuser or aroma lamp or massage oil when you are nervously exhausted, feeling burnt out, anxious, suffering from depression, insomnia, phobias or have experienced trauma. It is also a magician in the case of the compulsion to argue. It calms aggression, fears, obsessions and feelings of guilt. Valerie Ann Worwood even mentions it in the treatment of alcohol and drug addiction. You may be surprised by its quick and euphoric onset and mood lift. It combines perfectly with lavender, because both of these essential oils allow our minds to rest, even when it is difficult and so many insistent thoughts are racing through our heads. But do not overdo it with the dosage lavender oil. Less is more here. The fewer drops of lavender, the greater the relaxation and, conversely, the more drops of lavender, the greater the stimulation. If we need to “dispel the clouds” and lift our spirits, let’s mix a mixture with citrus, especially the combination with sweet orange will give us “juice”. On a physical level, it has significant anti-spasmodic effects, which we women will greatly appreciate during our menstrual cycle. Due to its linalool content, it can also be used in the processes of skin injury and wound healing, as it has an anti-inflammatory effect.

Sage essential oil
Sage, Latin name Salvia officinalis, is characterized by a distinct herbal aroma with a camphor undertone. It is generally recommended for meditation and detox. It has been associated with energy cleansing since ancient times. In ancient Rome, it was ritually used in religious ceremonies to ward off evil forces. Add it to a diffuser or aroma lamp and massage oil when you need to calm and strengthen your mind, ground yourself and strengthen your nerves. However, use it carefully - the more drops you use, the more you will "calm down". (And be careful, pregnant women, nursing mothers, young children and epileptics should avoid it due to its thujone content.) It combines perfectly with lavender, rosemary, grapefruit and thyme. On a physical level, it relieves the pain already mentioned, especially menstrual pain. It reduces sweating. It has strong antibacterial and antifungal effects. Thanks to its astringent effects, you can use it in the preparation of home cosmetics for both acne-prone skin and aging, tired and sagging skin, and it is perfect in massage mixtures for cellulite. 9-10 drops in 30ml of carrier (vegetable) oil are enough. Massage in very gently and leave to work.
